Celebrate the 14th Annual Tacoma Moon Festival, a vibrant showcase of our city’s rich cultural heritage! The festival draws on traditions of the East Asian Mid-Autumn Festival with its focus on the mythology of the Moon Princess, joyous harvests and family reunions. But it also celebrates the rich diversity of Tacoma’s immigrant and heritage communities while commemorating the tragic expulsion of Tacoma’s Chinese community in 1885.
This free, family-friendly event features live performances of music and dance on the main stage as well as activities for young and old, food trucks, and arts and craft vendors. From Chinese Lion Dancers to Pacific Island Reggae, Hispanic fusion, Cambodian classical dance, Norwegian folk music and Bollywood dance, the 2026 Tacoma Moon Festival will be a colorful immersion in the cultures that have made Tacoma!
Festival Highlights:
- Opening (1:00 PM): Mak Fai Lion Dance Association
- Mainstage Performances: Island Reggae Band, Correo Aerreo, Cambodian Classical Folk Dancers, Hale Bopp Scandinavian Folk Music, and Bollywood Dancers
- Special Moment: Mid-afternoon, we will once again pause to welcome newly naturalized citizens in partnership with Tacoma Community House.
- Lantern Parade (6:00 PM): Led by the Moon Princess, this will be a magical event finale and the perfect photo op for families!
